Things to include in your therapy website for better SEO:

  • Think about what potential clients are looking for - what keywords will they be searching?
  • Do you have a specialty? E.g couples counselling.
  • Include your location to ensure you’re gaining clients in your local area.
  • These keywords and phrases need to feature prominently on your website.
  • The more niche you can be, the better – this cuts down your competition.

What does your therapy website need?

  • It’s important that you have a website for your counselling practice that is well-structured and easy to navigate.
  • It should have a clear menu and headings.
  • Factor these keywords and phrases into your headings to improve the SEO of your therapy website.
  • There are also important technical elements – having a website that is mobile friendly, fast loading.
  • A successful website should be bringing in clients.

Ways to further improve your website:

  • Have a Google Business profile to leverage your local SEO – you are more likely to show up for potential clients in your area.
  • EAT – Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness. Include your credentials and a picture of yourself on your website.
  • A picture of yourself is a great way to initially introduce you to a client and begin that rapport.
  • To improve the SEO for your therapy website, consider having a blog. Adding this to your website as a deep dive into a particular subject can work as a gateway to your website.
  • Create content around frequently asked questions.
